I have always loved writing and can remember creating fanciful stories all the way back to my elementary school days. Once I grew up and graduated high school, I headed off to college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Forever a Tarheel!) and eventually earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting.
I took my first job as one of seven employees at a start-up Christian television station near my hometown, and after a couple of years joined the staff at the local NBC affiliate. Hoping to gain more experience in broadcasting, I left my beloved state and moved to Atlanta to work at CNN-Headline News.
Today, I am a writer and editor at InTouch, the teaching ministry of Dr. Charles Stanley, and have been a part of the InTouch broadcasting team since 1990. I contributed over 50 articles and sidebars to The Jesus Bible (2016, Zondervan), and helped develop and write the discipleship materials for Flourish (2019, Lifeway), the women’s mentoring program at Passion City Church (Louie Giglio, pastor). I contribute to Bayside Community Church devotional ministry (Florida), write for an international teaching ministry directed toward impoverished Christians, and post Christian discipleship articles for my own website. I’ve developed material for many Bible studies, led discipleship classes since beginning to teach in 2004, and continue to encourage others in the study of God’s Word.
Whether through writing, teaching, or personal interaction, it’s my desire to see God’s people rooted in the truth and equipped to impact their communities for the kingdom of God. I share my thoughts and insights with the hope of helping others see how our great God is always present and at work in every situation –both good and bad- to draw us more deeply into relationship with Him.
